Jen and Andrew
Jen is one of my besties. We actually started Folklore & Co. together, before she found better things to do with her weekends. She has impeccable taste, as you can see, and she and Andrew chose to tie the knot on Sydney harbour in an elegant, but not to fussy ceremony. The wedding was planned around the flowers - as all wedding should be! With Jen's favourite blooms - peonies - only available for a short time in November, the date was predetermined. We took an excursion to the flower market and decided to mix in yellow and orange pincushion proteas and flannel flowers (another J fav) with the coral and soft pink peonies. The flowers were the statement: a big, happy but elegant bouquet - to offset her minimal gown, an oversized flower crown for daughter Sarah, a free form arbour of big billowy blooms and trailing greenery, and a dense floral base to contrast with the gorgeously detailed cake. I love Jen's idea of topping it with candles, which they blew out together and made a wish. We selected silver and crystal from the Folklore inventory to hold sweets and extra flowers and let the chic, understated venue be the perfect foil for the explosion of pure floral joy.
"When it came to our wedding, Nicole and I worked closely to realise my ideas and create the dreamy, cascading bouquet I was after. It was fun sharing the Sydney Farmer's Market experience with her, my only prerequisite being big, blousy peonies - the rest came together like a surprise package. Perfect in every way. Not only can I recommend the lovely Nicole as an incredible florist and stylist, I guarantee she will create something uniquely spectacular that will be the talking point of your special event."
